Student art on display at Library

PITTSFIELD — Works representing the Altered Book Project from Art 112 (Art Appreciation) at Kennebec Valley Community College will be display at the Pittsfield Public Library through May. Organizers hope viewers will be inspired to create their own artistic altered book for the Library’s display in early July. The library has plenty of books available for altering.

Volunteers recognized Franklin Memorial Hospital thanks contributors

FARMINGTON — A recognition celebration for the health network’s volunteers was held recently in Franklin Memorial Hospital’s Bass Room. The program included social time, dinner and entertainment by Doug and Sherry Walrath. The volunteers received gifts in recognition of their efforts, as well as pins and service bars.

Three-week series on aging begins June 4

WATERVILLE — Colby College Professor Jen Coane, Ph.D., and her research assistant/student Anna Caron, will give a series of presentations on memory and aging at Spectrum Generations Muskie Center. The presentations are made possible through a grant from the Goldfarb Center for Public Affairs and Civic Engagement at Colby.

Pine Tree Camp ATV Day set for June 30

SMITHFIELD — The Pine Tree Camp ATV Day will be Saturday, June 30. A police escort will lead the group at 10 a.m. from Kincades gravel pit, in the center of Smithfield, to the Pine Tree Camp. There will be a one-mile ATV tour/ride at the camp.
