Monmouth Lions Club, Theater teaming up for weekend fundraiser
MONMOUTH — Theater at Monmouth will officially open the doors to Helen Melledy Hall from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, in support of the Monmouth Lions Club’s Inaugural community barbeque. Proceeds will support club activities.

Maine Democrat leaders outline what voters will be told
WASHINGTON — As President Barack Obama prepares to make his re-election pitch tonight, Maine Democrats attending the party’s convention in Charlotte, N.C., said they believe the president needs to highlight his work on behalf of the middle and working classes to win over undecided Maine voters.
