SAN ANTONIO — Air Force Reserve Airman Rebecca L. Lehotay recently graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.
Lehotay completed an eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Lehotay is the daughter of Matthew Lehotay of Cambridge, Ohio. She is a 2011 graduate of Gardiner Area High School.
Murphy graduates from basic training
SAN ANTONIO — Air Force Airman Shawn M. Murphy graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.
Murphy completed an eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Murphy earned distinction as an honor graduate. He is the son of Colleen Doucette of Windsor, Maine. He is a 2004 graduate of Cony High School, Augusta, Maine.
Dean graduates from basic training
COLUMBIA, S.C. — Army Spec. Cheryl L. Dean has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia.
During the nine weeks of training, Dean studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises.
Dean is the daughter of Brenda Haugen of Graceville, Minn., and sister of Jasmine Dean of Richmond, Maine.
She is a graduate of Leavitt Area High School, Turner, and a 2004 graduate of the University of New England, Portland, Maine.
