My battery went dead in Waterville recently, and naturally, I didn’t have my jumper cables with me. A couple I have never seen before stopped, but they couldn’t help (no jumper cables) so they drove off.
Ten minutes later, as I was walking toward an auto parts store, they came back. They had gone out and bought cables, and came back to give me a boost. I tried to push some cash at them, but they would have no part of it.
“Just want you to have a nice Christmas,” he said. They just drove off.
I have no idea who the two in the big green truck were, but I feel the need to say thank you again, and hopefully brighten up a few others with the story that gave me such a boost.
