YARMOUTH — I-295 southbound reopened at about 1:40 p.m. Wednesday after a tractor-trailer jacknifed and blocked both lanes for more than two hours.
The truck jacknifed between exit 17 and the Royal River, said Steve McCausland, spokeman for the Maine Department of Public Safety. Traffic was detoured around the accident, with motorists exiting the interstate and traveling down U.S. 1 for about two miles before re-entering the highway.
There were no reports of any injuries as a result of the truck accident..
