AUGUSTA — A 19-year-old Auburn man has been arrested and charged with Tuesday’s robbery of the CVS Pharmacy on Stone Street, police said.

The suspect, Anthony Post, was located in Augusta and turned over to the FBI, according to a press release this afternoon from Augusta Police Department Deputy Chief Jared Mills.

Mills said Augusta police and FBI agents cooperated in the investigation, and that it is anticipated Post will be charged in U.S. District Court in Bangor.

The robbery occurred about 4 p.m. Tuesday, and the surveillance cameras caught a number of images of the suspect which were then distributed by Augusta police.

Published reports indicate Post was indicted in December by a grand jury in Androscoggin County on charges of burglary, theft by unauthorized taking, violating condition of release, criminal mischief, alleged to have occurred on Nov. 19. The indictment indicated Post had been living in Lewiston.
