Madison man pleads not guilty to child porn charge

BANGOR — A Madison man made his first appearance in U.S. District Court last week on a charge of possession of child pornography.

Lester Brown, 61, of Madison, pleaded not guilty during his appearance on Friday. He is charged with possession of child pornography between June 29, 2011, and Nov. 2, 2012, according to Assistant U.S. Attorney General Andrew McCormack.

McCormack said Brown’s conditions of release included no use of computers and no contact with children. Brown’s next appearance in court has not been scheduled, McCormack said.

Arrests

IN FRANKLIN COUNTY, Tuesday, John Gill, 77, of New Sharon, was arrested on the charge of class D stalking.

IN OAKLAND, Tuesday, at 4:53 p.m., Roxane Marie Montgomery, 45, of Hussey Hill Road, was arrested on charges of misuse of the E911 system and refusing to submit to arrest or detention, on Hussey Hill Road.

IN WATERVILLE, Tuesday at 10:30 a.m., Jonathan Torres, 29, of 20 Nelson St., was arrested on a charge of domestic-violence assault.

11:38 a.m., Adam Singleton, 26, of 19 Brook St., was arrested on a warrant, on Common Street.
