AUGUSTA — A selection committee is accepting applications from candidates interested in serving as a Maine district court judge.
Gov. Paul LePage said the Judicial Selection Committee will consider applications to fill a post being vacated with the retirement of Judge John Romei, who serves in Machias and whose term expires in late June. Applications will be accepted until April 15.
Maine law requires that the new judge reside in Washington County at the time of appointment.
