OAKLAND — Catie Cheevers of Oakland and Josh Bates of Orlando, Fla., were married Saturday, November 24th, 2012 at sunset in Amelia Island, Fla. Reverend William Schroder officiated at Amelia Plantation Church.
A reception followed at Walker’s Landing.
The bride is the daughter of Charles and Stephanie Cheevers of Oakland. She is a graduate of Messalonskee High School and Florida State University. She is currently employed by the PGA TOUR and handles the special events at TPC Sawgrass.
The groom is the son of Richard and Terrie Bates of Greenville, Tenn. He is a graduate of Boone High School in Orlando and University of North Florida. He is currently employed by Sauer, Inc. as a senior project manager.
Alison Cheevers, sister of the bride and Christine Hoffman, friend, were maids of honor. Holly Tyrrell, Megan Schumann, Mariah Verseput, Courtney Miller and Stephanie Naylor were bridesmaids.
Matt Bates, brother of the groom, was best man. Scott Becher, Chris Moore, Erin Fitzsimmons, Kevin Reilly, CJ Cheevers and Scott Easton were groomsman.
Guests traveled to Florida from over 15 states to enjoy several wedding related events over the long holiday weekend on Amelia Island.
The couple spent their honeymoon traveling throughout Italy and reside in Jacksonville, Fla.
