AUGUSTA — About 1,000 Time Warner Cable customers in Augusta and Hallowell lost phone and Internet service for much of the day Friday.

The customers lost those two services between 6 and 7 a.m. Friday until they were restored around 3 p.m., according to Jolie Plucknette-Farmen, a spokeswoman for Time Warner.

She said a router problem caused the outage, which did not appear to affect television service.
