Commencements are scheduled Saturday at the University of Maine at Orono, the University of Southern Maine, the University of Maine-Augusta, Thomas College, Husson University and the Maine College of Art.

U.S. Sen. Susan Collins will deliver one of the commencement speeches at USM’s two ceremonies. Peter Vigue, CEO and chairman of The Cianbro Cos., will be the commencement speaker at Thomas College in Waterville.

The University of Maine’s commencement speaker is UMaine alumnus Lawrence Bender, who has produced films that have won six Academy awards. Paul Doiron, editor of Down East magazine and the author of four crime fiction books set in Maine, is speaking at the University of Maine-Augusta.
