At 6:27 p.m., police and firefighters responded to a fire alarm at Maine Municipal Association that was caused by a faulty detector, according to Augusta Fire Department Battalion Chief Scott Dunbar.
6:38 p.m., a caller from J&S Oil, Mount Vernon Avenue, reported theft.
7:23 p.m., a caller from Olympia Sports, Whitten Road, reported theft.
7:25 p.m., one person was charged after a report of a theft at Kennebec Market, Water Street.
8:02 p.m., a caller from Maine Smoke Shop, Western Avenue, reported theft.
9:13 p.m., one person was charged after a report of shoplifting at Walgreens, Water Street.
SATURDAY
At 4:21 a.m., police and firefighters responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash on Spring Road and South Belfast Avenue found the scene deserted. Responders found a single vehicle off the road among the trees with airbags deployed. No people were with the vehicle when rescuers arrived, said Augusta Fire Department Battalion Chief Scott Dunbar.

At 12:27 a.m., Rebecca P. Cummings, 31, of Augusta, was arrested on Glenridge Drive and charged with violating conditions of release after police responded to a report of a disturbance.
