Obituary reminds usto cherish our memories

When I read in the Morning Sentinel that Edwina Steeves Bolduc passed away, it brought back fond memories of growing up with her family on Ticonic in Waterville’s north end. Edwina and her husband, Ricky, were wonderful people. I remember playing marbles with her eldest son, Charles Jr., and also having fun with her other sons, John, Dougie and Richard.

This month my Princeton University Alumni magazine enclosed a supplement, Quest: Research News from PPPL. Its most interesting news was in the sections titled “New Paths to Fusion Energy” and “Advancing Fusion Theory.” As the PPPL director reminds us: “Fusion powers the sun and stars, and harnessing its power on Earth could provide a safe, clean, and virtually limitless way to meet global energy needs.”

LOCAL BASEBALL TOURNAMENTS: Fairfield moves on

BIDDEFORD — Cole Robinson pitched a three-hitter and drove in two runs to lead Fairfield Post 14 to a 4-1 win against Biddeford in the semifinals of the State Junior Amercian Legion baseball tournament Sunday. The winner was the second straight over Biddeford for Fairfield and advances the team to the state final on Thursday at Hadlock Field in Portland against a yet-to-be determined opponent.
