Thoreau-Wabanaki Trail presentation set
OAKLAND — The Oakland Public Library will host a talk and presentation on the Thoreau-Wabanaki Trail project at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 30. The presenter, Paul Johnson, of Oakland, is a retired Inland Fisheries and Game biologist who worked in the Greenville area and knows the trail first hand. The trail consists of Wabanaki canoe routes in the Kennebec and Penobscot drainage areas. The routes were used by Thoreau in his explorations of Maine in the 1800s.
Parade planned for East Madison Days
EAST MADISON –Family events are planned for East Madison Days starting today. The History House, will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. A baked bean supper is going to be served from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., at the Grange. Cost is $8 for adults, and $4 for children.
