Paul and Lucille enjoyed much of their married life together living on Military Avenue in Fairfield, where they raised five children. Paul worked for over two decades as a millwright at Keyes Fibre, and Lucille was a hairdresser by trade, operating a beauty shop from the basement of their home. They each retired in the late 1980s.

They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with a large family gathering in Burnham. They have 5 children, Rebecca Comeau and her husband Paul of Colorado Springs, Colo., Eve Foley and her husband Joe of Burnham, Andy Audet of Benton, Sarah DeWitt and her husband John of Sidney, and Thomas Audet and his wife Heather of Brewer. In addition to their children, Paul and Lucille have 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

In 2009, Paul and Lucille moved to Sidney, but still spend their summers at their camp on China Lake.
