Falls Prevention Awareness Day will be observed on the first day of fall, Sunday, Sept. 22, to promote and increase public awareness about how to prevent and reduce falls among older adults. Throughout the week, Spectrum Generations centers across central Maine have planned area events.

Youth kick off public awareness project
FARMINGTON — Four youth groups within Greater Franklin County recently kicked off “Project Sticker Shock,” a youth-led initiative to change adult attitudes about selling and providing alcohol to minors. The project is sponsored by the Maine Office of Substance Abuse to bring attention to the issue of underage drinking and the adults who provide alcohol to minors.
Phillips library events planned for Saturday

Robotics event set for Saturday in Oakland
