WAYNE — Kennebec County sheriff’s deputies say they are working with two people they think are connected to a string of burglaries in Kennebec, Franklin and Somerset counties.
Police think the suspects are responsible for at least 30 and maybe as many as 50 or more burglaries in the last three months that have netted “tens of thousands” of dollars in goods.
Justin Ross of Wayne was arrested last week on charges of burglary and theft.
Ross was arrested after a neighbor took down the license plate of a suspicious vehicle outside a Vienna home. The home was discovered to have been robbed.
Police say items stolen include flat-screen televisions and a snowmobile.
Police think drug addiction is the motive for the thefts.
It was not clear if Ross had a lawyer.
