VASSALBORO — Maranacook senior Luke Ruffing shot 4-under par 68 Tuesday to lead individual qualifiers at the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A and B team and individual qualifying at Natanis Golf Course.

“I had the putter going today,” said Ruffing, who made five birdies on the Arrowhead Course and tied his low score at Natanis. “It was a little wet and very windy.”

Ruffing, who has finished runner-up the past two seasons, will be among the favorites at the Class B state individual tournament on Oct. 19 at Natanis. Ruffing’s Maranacook squad was among five Class B teams in the KVAC to qualify for Saturday’s team championships at Natanis.
