WATERVILLE — An Applebee’s Flapjack Fundraiser is set for 8-10 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 3, at Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill and Bar, 251 Kennedy Memorial Drive. Tickets cost $12 each. Proceeds will benefit improvements for the skate park.

Farmington landowners forum rescheduled for Jan. 15
FARMINGTON — Healthy Community Coalition will host a free landowner’s forum, as part of its Mapping Our Footsteps initiative, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, in the Chisholm Room at Franklin Memorial Hospital. The forum is an opportunity for local landowners and managers to learn more about their rights, responsibilities and the benefits of allowing public use of their lands.
Master Gardener course offered
SKOWHEGAN — The University of Maine Cooperative Extension will offer its Master Gardener program. The course will be a split session format will be 9 a.m.-noon on Mondays at the Somerset County Extension Office. The first session is set for March 4 through May 6. The second session is set for Sept. 9-Oct. 7.

MADISON — Campbell’s True Value Hardware, Main Street, will collect food items and cash donations for Madison Food Cupboard through Thursday, Jan. 31.
Winslow gets outdoor skating rink
WINSLOW — An outdoor ice skating rink is being constructed for children and adults. Winslow Park and Recreation Director Dennis Dacus has been the central organizer behind the effort. A fundraising campaign was created to help offset the cost of a liner and boards.
Computer Basics to be offered in Winslow
WINSLOW — Winslow Public Library will offer a basic computer skills course starting Monday, Jan. 7. For beginners or those with some computer experience.
Fine forgiveness offered for food donations
PITTSFIELD — The Pittsfield Library recently celebrated New Year’s Eve with Food for Fine Forgiveness Day. Library patrons were able to clear their library fines and start 2013 with a clean library record by bringing in food donations. The library collected more than 100 non-perishable food items to donate to the Pittsfield Food Pantry.
