FARMINGTON — Local leaders recently announced the Hollywood-themed Heat Dance will take place at 7 p.m. Feb. 7 at the University of Maine at Farmington’s North Dining Hall, for the third consecutive year. Proceeds will be used for heating assistance for those in need.
For the past two years, the event has received broad support from individuals, service organizations, local businesses and churches. Last year, it raised $16,000 and was attended by approximately 300 people. Funds raised provide one 50-gallon fuel delivery per heating season to hundreds of Franklin County families.
A special dinner before the dance at the Homestead Restaurant will feature red carpet limousine service from the restaurant to the dance and back.
Tickets cost $10 in advance or $15 at the door. Tickets are available at The Calico Patch and Devaney, Doak and Garrett booksellers.
