WINSLOW — Winslow Boy Scout Troop 433 will host a hat and mitten drive through Jan. 31. The scouts are accepting used and new hat, mittens, scarves and warm clothing to be distributed to local elementary schools and the Waterville Homeless Shelter. Senior Patrol Leader Cameron Patterson looks to collect 500 items to be distributed.
There are drop boxes in Shaw’s and Hannaford on Kennedy Memorial Drive, and Kmart in Elm Plaza, all in Waterville. Donations can also be dropped off at the Youth Center in Winslow, located behind the fire station, between 6:30 and 8 p.m. Thursdays.
