NEW LONDON, N.H. — Senior center Ben Johnson scored 24 points and grabbed 26 rebounds to lead sixth-seeded University of Maine at Farmington to an 80-61 win against third-seeded Colby-Sawyer in the quarterfinal round of the North Atlantic Conference men’s basketball playoffs Tuesday night.

Andrew Dickey scored 26 points for the Beavers, who led 37-28 at halftime, while teammate Pet Sumner scored 14 points. Zach Beane led Colby-Sawyer (14-11) with 17 points.

UMaine-Farmington (12-14) advances to play at second-seeded Castleton State on Friday.

LYNDON STATE 91, THOMAS 59: David Johnson scored 26 points and George Carle added 15 points and 17 rebonds to lead the Hornets to the NAC win in Lyndon Center, Vt. Adam Carlsen led the way for the Terriers with 13 points, four assists and three rebounds. Skowhegan graduate Levi Barnes finished with 12 points, three rebounds, two blocks and two steals. The Terriers finish the season at 11-15.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

CASTLETON STATE 75, THOMAS 25: Stephanie Bull scored 14 points to lead the top-ranked Spartans to the NAC quarterfinal win in Castleton, Vt. Lindsay Sabo added 13 points for Castleton (23-3), which will now face Husson on Friday in the semifinals.

Elizabeth Goodall led No. 8 Thomas (4-22) with eight points.

HUSSON 77, NEW ENGLAND COLLEGE 62: Chandler Guerrette scored a game-high 21 points and dished out seven assists to lead fifth-seeded Husson to the NAC quarterfinal win.

Rebecca Young added 17 points for the Eagles (15-11) whle Victoria McIntyre chipped in with 16. Skowhegan graduate Amanda Johnson and Mt. View grad Chrissy Larrabee each scored four points in the victory.

Kayla Lawlor scored 17 points for the fifth-seeded Pilgrims (14-12).

MAINE MARITIME 59, UMF 53: Skowhegan graduate Cheyenne Malloy scored a team high 13 points to lead the Mariners to win m,in a NAC quarterfinal in Castime. Ashley Shine added 10 points for the third-seeded Mariners (17-9) who face Colby-Sawyer in the semifinals. Winslow grad Elizabeth Ferry led UMaine-Farmington (9-17) with 14 points while teammate Meghan Smith scored 13.
