AUGUSTA — Richard and Tedda Henry, of Augusta, have announced the engagement of their daughter, Whitney Henry, of Portland, to Jason Pierce, also of Portland, son of Sharon Pierce, of East Wakefield, N.H., and the late David Smith.
Whitney is a graduate of Husson University, where she received a bachelor of science degree in psychology, and a graduate of the University of Southern Maine, where she received a master of science degree in clinical mental health counseling. She is employed as a substance abuse counselor by Day One in South Portland.

Jason is a graduate of Husson College, where he received bachelor of science degrees in biology and kinesiology. He is employed as a sales representative by Humana in Portsmouth, N.H.
A Sept. 13, 2014, wedding is planned.
