JEFFERSON — The Damariscotta Lake Watershed Association will offer a free day of fishing for children from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 7, at Damariscotta Lake State Park.

Children age 5-15 are welcome and experience is not necessary. Experienced boaters will guide children to prime fishing spots for one hour on Damariscotta Lake. Mentors will be onshore assisting young anglers with equipment or to answer their questions about fishing.

Equipment — bait, boats, and lifejackets — will be provided. The Whitefield Lions Club will provide free food and ice cream will be served.

All food and activities are free — admission to the park will be free for the first 50 families.

To register, call 549-3836 or visit www.dlwa.org by June 1.
