WINSLOW — Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gagnon were given a surprise party in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday, May 30, 2014.

Robert Gagnon and the former Irene Jacques were married May 30, 1964, at Notre Dame Church in Waterville, by Rev. Lucien Grondin.

Mrs. Gagnon is employed by Gagnon Chiropractic. She previously was employed for 30 years by Ames/Zayre Department Store.

Gagnon is retired. He was employed 10 years as Elks Club manager, and 28 years as a foreman by Laverdieres.

They have three sons, Robert E. Gagnon, of Augusta, Steven R. Gagnon, of Winslow, and Jeffrey R. Gagnon, of Iowa; three daughters-in-law, Michele, Christy and Christy Gagnon; five grandchildren, Nicole Hamlin, 24, Robert Gagnon, 22, Nathan Gagnon, 15, Ryan Gagnon, 14, and Joshua Gagnon, 8; and three great-grandchildren, Troy Hamlin, 6, Taylor Hamlin, 5, and Tanner Hamlin, 2.

The party, given by their three sons, was held at Eric’s Restaurant in Waterville. Guests attended from Maine, Iowa and Georgia.
