SKOWHEGAN — Alvin Charles and Madeline Corson celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on July 17, 2014, at Joseph’s Fireside Steak House, in Waterville. Their original maid of honor, and sister to Madeline, Mary Ann Cooley, attended.

Corson and the former Madeline Murray were married July 17, 1954, by Father Leonard Frechette at the Notre Dame Church in Skowhegan.

Corson was employed by Scott Paper Co., retiring in 1983.

Mrs. Corson was a homemaker and former owner of C & M Redemption Center of Skowhegan.

They are the parents of seven children: Deborah and her husband, Toby Post, of Gardiner, Arthur Murray II and his wife, Theresa, of Athens, the late A. Charles Corson Jr., of Bradenton, Fla., the late Mark Corson Sr. and his wife Linda Turner, of Topsham; and predeceased infants Leslie, Theresa and Kevin.

Mr. and Mrs. Corson have 13 grandchildren: Jolene Grubb, Mark Corson Jr., Angela Wilkinson, Cyndi Corson, Michael Corson, Denise Soiett, Kari Ann Presley, Charity Spencer, Danica, Vincent and Cheyenne Murray, and the late Nikki-Jo Corson and Anita Jean. Additionally they have 19 great-grandchildren: Damian, Maxine, Anthony, Desitny, Mark III, Isaiah, Tyler, Trevor, Kymberleigh, Joey, Hailey, Ava, Leila, Emily, Dominic, Kayden, Cameron, Reuben and Austen.
