MONMOUTH — Charles Jacobs and Rebecca Stanley, of Monmouth, have announced the engagement of their daughter and step-daughter, Lauren Jacobs, of Old Town, to Daniel Perkins, also of Old Town, son of James Perkins and Theresa Kerchner, of Wayne. Lauren also is the daughter of the late Linda Smith Dyer.
Lauren is a graduate of Gould Academy and Bates College, where she received a degree in English.

She is employed by the Maine Winter Sports Center.
Daniel is a graduate of Maranacook High School and is completing his studies in forestry at the University of Maine in Orono. He is currently employed as a seasonal member of the fire crew at Acadia National Park.
An October 2014 wedding is planned.
