LITCHFIELD — Philip Leibowitz and Rayna Leibowitz recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house at the Masonic Hall.
Leibowitz and the former Rayna Bonin were married Sept. 17, 1964, in Richmond. Stanley R. Peipgrass performed the ceremony in 1964, and a marriage vows renewal was conducted by Pastor Scott Webb of the Litchfield Community Christian Church. Linda Hanson was maid of honor in 1964 and matron of honor for this ceremony, along with Sage and Clara Dudley, who served as flower girls.
Rayna works part time for Fire Tech of New England in Winthrop as a seamstress, and is director of the Litchfield Community Food Bank. She retired in 2009 from the State of Maine after 42 years of employment.
Phil is semi-retired, working part time for Soule’s Auto Parts in Chelsea and part time in his own garage on the Plains Road in Litchfield.
Their daughter, Amy Reynolds, and her husband, Bill, were hosts of the party. They live in Skillman, New Jersey, just north of Princeton. The couple’s two grandchildren, Calista and David, attended the festivities, with Calista circulating the guest book.
Guests attended from New Jersey, Connecticut, and throughout Maine.
