Farmington officials will hold a dedication ceremony Saturday morning for a new park on the outskirts of downtown.

The public is invited to attend the ceremony at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bjorn Park at the corner of High Street and U.S. Route 2. The new park was created on the site of the town garage. Before that, there was a school on the site. The site has been a vacant lot in recent years.

The park, at the entrance to downtown, was named after Kyes Insurance president Richard Bjorn who donated $74,000 to fund the project.

At the annual Town Meeting in March, residents voted not to sell the small triangular lot.
