AUGUSTA — Police are investigating a reported armed robbery at a Western Avenue convenience store on Sunday night.

The Augusta Police Department said nobody was injured in the incident, which Sgt. Vicente Morris said was reported at 8:36 p.m. at the Augusta Quick Mart.

Augusta police Sgt. Eric Lloyd said the robber showed what a store employee believed to be a gun before demanding and leaving with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Lloyd described the robber as being a white man between 20 and 30 years old and 5 feet, 6 inches and 5 feet, 8 inches in height. He was wearing a red and black plaid jacket, a dark gray bomber hat and aviator sunglasses, Lloyd said.

He said police are investigating the robbery and more details may be available on Monday.
