AUGUSTA — A man walking near downtown was mugged on Tuesday night by two people, and police say they’re following leads on potential suspects.
The robbery was reported at 9:54 p.m. Sgt. Vicente Morris of the Augusta Police Department said a man reported that two people came up to him as he walked near the Hartford Fire Station on Water Street and one of the people demanded items from him.
Morris said the victim complied, no weapon was displayed and nobody was hurt.
Now, Morris said police are following up on the robbery based on police observations of people they saw in that area on Tuesday night and reports from the victim.
Morris would not say what was stolen or the gender of the reported robbers.
