A Thorndike man is facing charges of assault and unlawful sexual touching after allegedly assaulting a young woman in Waldo County.

According to a press release from the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office, Earland Stevenson, 64, was summonsed on the charges after a juvenile girl reported to police that she was assaulted.

Detective Gerry Lincoln of the sheriff’s office conducted several interviews regarding the incident, and the summons was issued on Feb. 10, according to the release.

Stevenson is scheduled to appear in Belfast District Court on March 17.
