A Nova Scotia man remains in critical condition after an accident Wednesday morning at the Sugarloaf ski area.

The man, Kyle Henderson, 20, appeared to have injured himself on the Boomauger trail, where he was found by another skier, according to Chief Mark Lopez of the Carrabassett Valley Police Department.

After a ski patrol found Henderson around 10:30 a.m., he was taken by Northstar Ambulance to an awaiting LifeFlight helicopter, which took him to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.

Lopez said Henderson didn’t appear to have hit anything and possibly took a fall while skiing, though police will need to reconstruct the accident to determine what happened.
