    Bob Bacon loads more wood into an evaporator Friday at Bacon Farm Maple Products in Sidney. It was the first day this season the business boiled, according to Shelley Bacon, who said March 13 is a little later than normal. The farm, at the corner of Route 23 and Goodhue Road, has been in the same family and making maple syrup since 1881. Besides selling syrup made there, the owners also sell equipment and supplies to other producers.
