Portland police are looking for three men who they say committed an armed home invasion robbery Thursday morning on Cumberland Avenue.

Police were called to 127 Cumberland Ave. at 9:45 a.m. after two residents reported being robbed at gunpoint.

The residents told police that three men forced their way into the apartment, restrained them and demanded money, police sad. One resident escaped, ran to a nearby business and called police.

The three men then fled down Anderson Street with cash. Police would not say how much.

The robbers may have left the area in a tan sport utility vehicle, witnesses told police.

Police have security footage of two of the men and the car they are believed to have used.

One of the men was described as a heavyset black man, 30 years old, possibly with a mustache or beard and wearing a gray woolen-type jacket and hat. He was armed with a black handgun, police said.

The second suspect is black, 6 feet tall, slim with no facial hair, wearing gray or black clothing with a hood and a baseball-type hat, police said. He was armed with a black handgun with a brown handle.

The third man was described as being in his 30s, with a large or heavyset build and wearing black clothing.

The victims received minor injuries from being restrained, police said, but were otherwise unhurt.

Police also were able to locate video surveillance showing two of the suspects and the car they are believed to have used.

Police asked that anyone with information contact the police department at 874-8584.
