A 43-year-old Lyman man was killed in a motorcycle crash in Dayton at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Maine State Police spokesman Stephen McCausland said that Adam Kimball was operating a motorcycle east on Route 5, also known as New County Road, when he lost control of his motorcycle.

Kimball was transported to Maine Medical Center where later died from his injuries. Indications are that speed may have contributed to the crash, McCausland said in a press release.

State police said Kimball was ejected from the motorcycle, which hit a tree and landed next to him. Police said Kimball was not wearing a helmet.
