BURLINGTON, Vt.— Two Champlain College students were recognized April 22 for excellence in the Core division at a celebration. They are Teagan Cook, of Dexter, and Benjamin Russell of Windsor.

The students, who were nominated by Core faculty, had the opportunity to see their work in print in Audeamus, an annual collection of essays produced in collaboration with the Champlain College Publishing Initiative, according to a news release from the college. The students celebrated their accomplishments with faculty and staff at a book launch.

Champlain College’s Core curriculum is designed to prepare students to be intellectual leaders. To promote the ability to express, defend and expand ideas, Core classes are discussion-oriented, problem-based and experiential. Faculty and students partner to explore questions from multiple perspectives in order to understand how different disciplines construct and convey knowledge.
