The annual Augusta Fuel Co. Open Doubles Petanque Tournament will be held July 19 at Mill Park in Augusta.

Teams of players from Blue Hill; Old Orchard Beach; Boston; New York; Denver; Trois-Rivieres, Quebec; and Quebec City have been invited.

There will be five preliminary rounds, followed by semi-finals and finals. Each round takes about 50 minutes to play.

The tournament begins at 8:30 a.m. with a lunch break at noon. The championship game probably will be played around 4 p.m.

The tournament is open to the public. Admission is free. Fans are asked to bring lawn chairs, a beach umbrella and a lunch.
