DRESDEN — Dresden Summerfest, sponsored by Dresden Recreation Committee and the Kenyon Fund, is planned Sunday, July 12, at the Pownalborough Court House on Route 128, Cedar Grove Road.
Scheduled events:
• 11 a.m.: Events begin on the banks of the Kennebec River.
• 11:30 a.m.: Music by the local band Steamboat Gypsy. Talented musicians will play folk, bluegrass and old time country selections.
• 1 p.m.: Presentation of Drums Alive, a new approach to getting healthy and having fun at the same time.
• 1:30 p.m.: Music by Pop Invasion star John Hasnip. Singer and songwriter from Yeovil, England, Hasnip has entertained audiences in many countries around the world.
• 1:45-3 p.m. Sing along to old favorites with Dresden’s infamous Accordion Dude.
Continuing throughout the day:
• Guided tours of the historic Pownalborough Court House.
• Hiking trails — maps available.
• Barbecue prepared by volunteers of the Dresden Fire Association.
• Horse drawn carriage rides.
• Also: Children’s and adults’ games, petting zoo, community displays, pie judging contest, bird watching, more.
