30-mile paddle trek planned for Aug. 1
The 30 Mile River Watershed Association will host its 7th Annual Paddle Trek Saturday, Aug. 1. Paddlers will have an opportunity to experience the watershed from a new perspective as they travel by canoe or kayak through many of the lakes that form the “30 Mile River.” This daylong, guided trip goes from Mt. Vernon Village to Wayne Village, along 15 miles of connected lakes and streams, with varying lengths and portage options for those wanting a shorter trip, according to a news release from the association.
Register online at www.30mileriver.org. Registration fees are $25 for adults, $15 for teens (13-17) and free for children 12 and younger.
