AUGUSTA — Gelek, a Tibetan monk who is spending the month in Maine, will deliver a dharma lesson and also practical instruction in meditation at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, at the Unitarian Universalist Community Church, 69 Winthrop St, according to a news release from the church.
He has the title of Geshe, which is a Ph.D equivalent, in esoteric Buddhism. He has taught dharma to many westerners in Dharamsala. This event is open to the public.
