WAYNE — Cary Memorial Library will host Chewonki’s Hero Adaptations from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 3, at the library, 17 Old Winthrop Road. Many superheroes are inspired by animals living in the backyard. Ever wonder if the powers and abilities of Spiderman and Batman could actually exist in the natural world?

The library will present two of these iconic figures and draw connections between their powers and the adaptations of their animal counterparts, according to a news release from the library. The event will conclude with a close-up look at a third live animal and the opportunity for participants to enter into a statewide contest to create their own owl-inspired superhero.
