SIDNEY — Snow Pond Center for the Arts and the New England Music Camp will present The United States Air Force Strings at 6 p.m. Friday, July 31, at the center’s Bowl in the Pines.
The free concert will be preceded by a 5 p.m. barbecue ($10 for adults, $5 for veterans and children 11 and younger). Advance reservations for the barbecue are recommended and available at snowpond.org, according to a news release form the center.
The program will include works by Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Bartok, Grieg and Foote. Students from the New England Music Camp will join the Air Force Strings in a special performance of Praeludium from Grieg’s Holberg Suite, Op. 40. Master Sgt. Mark Dorosheff will be featured as violin soloist in Mozart’s Rondo in C major for Violin and Orchestra, K. 373.
The Friday performance follows a full day of lessons, clinics and coaching of various rehearsals by members of The Air Force Strings at the New England Music Camp.
