STOCKHOLM — One person has died and five others were injured in a vehicle crash in the northern Maine town of Stockholm.
Police say the driver of a sports utility vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign on Route 161 on Friday night and collided with another vehicle, causing it to go the road, into a ditch and to roll on its side.
Authorities say a passenger – 24-year-old Jessie Bouchard of Fort Kent, Maine – was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.
The drivers and three other passengers were transported to hospitals for treatment.
Police are continuing to investigate the crash.
