The 62nd Lions Agricultural Fair opened Thursday at Clinton’s fairgrounds on Route 100, and will run through Sunday, with exhibitions, food, rides, music and contests.

Gates open at 8 a.m. through Sunday.

Among the events are fireworks on Friday night and a 10 a.m. parade on Saturday.

The annual street parade through Clinton will start at 10 a.m., including the Lawrence High School marching band, Kora Shriners, local floats, antique cars and more.

Sunday’s activities will start with a nondenominational church service at 10 a.m. featuring the nationally known band Founded Trio.

The fair also offers four days of agricultural events, livestock, food, music and entertainment, including Tickles the Clown, who performs Saturday at his 30th straight Clinton Lions Fair.

Throughout the fair, there will be daily bingo and Krazy Ball, two exhibition halls featuring crafts, vegetables, 4-H, Grange and University of Maine Extension exhibits.

The Clinton Historical Society will have the history house open featuring artifacts from Clinton’s past, including a recently discovered 16-foot national mural painted by artist Viva Chamberlain.
