NORRIDGEWOCK — The Board of Selectmen will hold a special meeting Tuesday to meet with the Maine Municipal Association concerning the search for a new town manager.

Ron Frederick, chairman of the Board of Selectmen, said there have been no new developments in the search process since the board voted earlier this month to hire the MMA to assist them with the search in replacing Michelle Flewelling.

The reason for the special meeting is because the MMA was not available to attend the board’s regular meeting on Wednesday, Frederick said.

“We’re just starting the search,” Frederick said. “We’ll go over how the process works.”

He said the discussion will also include a time frame for the hiring process. The town is looking for a new town manager “as soon as possible,” Frederick said.

Flewelling, who has served as town manager for eight years, is scheduled to depart for a job as town manager in Fairfield in December, although she has said that she would be available to work some days in Norridgewock for the month of December.

On Wednesday the board is also scheduled to accept Flewelling’s official letter of resignation.

The special selectmen’s meeting, which includes an executive session as well as the discussion on the town manager search, is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday at the town office.

The board’s regular meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday at the town office.
