UNITY — Unity Barn Raisers is partnering with the Waldo County Sheriff’s Department and Waldo County Triad to host a Drug Take Back Event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at the Unity Community Center, 32 School St. This is an opportunity for people to turn in their unused or expired prescription drugs, according to a news release from Unity Barn Raisers.

A study by the Partnership for a Drug-Free America shows that 2,500 American children get high for the first time. Most of these drugs are obtained from friends and family members, often coming from unused or expired prescription bottles at the home of their parents, grandparents, or other relatives, according to the release.
