RANGELEY — The Rangeley Friends of the Arts, together with Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield in Maine and the Maine Community Foundation, have announced the winners in the first Western Mountain Photography Show, which was held Sept. 18 and 19 at the historic Rangeley Inn.

• Best in Show — Frozen River by William Burke

• In Color Photography — First Place: Shin Falls by Mark Turner, Second Place: Momma Nesting Loon by Tami J McGarvey, and Third Place: Cascade Falls Rain by David Goodman.

• In Black and White Photography — First Place: Beartooth Butte Reflecting in Beartooth Lake by Walter Mularz, Second Place: Motherhood by Laura Zamfirescu, and Third Place: South Basin Katahdin by Mark Turner.

• The winner of the popular vote for People’s Choice award was Mother Nature’s Fury, by Tami J. McGarvey.

The awards reception, held Sept. 18 was attended by more than 75 photography enthusiasts. Photo Show Chairperson Linda Sikes, together with RFA Administrator Pam Ellis, presented the awards to an enthusiastic crowd. The staff of the Rangeley Inn catered the event which took place in their elegant function room.
