FAIRFIELD — The Town of Fairfield reminds residents that Maine residents are required by law to register their dogs by Dec. 31 each year.

Those who have not already done so, are encouraged to stop by the Town Office to obtain a dog license. A current rabies certificate is required at the time of registration.

Fees are $11 for unaltered dogs and $6 for altered dogs. There will be a state mandated late fee of $25 for each dog registered after Jan. 31.
