UPDATED: HALLOWELL — Goodrich-Caldwell American Legion Post 6 will hold Veterans Day events Wednesday, Nov. 11.

Coffee and doughnuts will be at 9:30 a.m., followed by the veterans’ raffle drawing at the Legion Hall on Second Street.

Attendees will depart at 10:30 a.m. for Veterans Memorial Park at Hallowell Cemetery. The program will begin at 11 a.m. with opening remarks by First Vice Commander Jerry Stuart, followed by an invocation given by Post Chaplain Ernest DeRaps. Joan Morgan will sing the “National Anthem,” Comrade Ernie McPherson will lay the wreath, and Tony Jordan will perform the song medley “World War I.”

The Rev. Peter Inchcome will give the benediction. Stuart will close the ceremony with an invitation to the public to attend a gathering with refreshments at the Post Hall.

In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park will only include the laying of the wreath.
